Im trying to add a blur filter to a nested movie clip with motion tweening, but it does not work. Basically, I created a ball shape, converted it to a movie clip symbol. Selected the instance of that symbol and created a MC so I could animate its transparency. Then, back on the scene (stage), I animated its position and wanted to add a blur effect, but I get this message and no blur:
Popup says motion contains filter properties that cannot be applied to selected objects
1. Ball shape
2. Convert to MC
3. Animate transparency to MC.
4. Add more instances of ball to MC and stagger ball into extra layers to create a sequential effect (1st ball fades in/out, 2nd ball fades in/out, etc)
5. Back to stage: animate position, scale, and add blur.
I made it work, but working with motion tween can be difficult b/c in this case, it does not appear on the stage (transparancy set to 0 in frame 1 of the MC) until I preview. I just need to be mindful of these things!
