I recently posted with some questions about how to make a preloader work in correspondence with XML data, and the feedback was very helpful. Solved my problem in short order.
Now I have a new goal. What I'd like to do is create a Flash player that looks inside a directory and dynamically loads any FLV videos it finds. So on the page I might have a player window on the right and a list on the left. When the Flash sees a video in the folder, it takes the name of the video and creates a new line of text (in the list) that matches the name. When the name is clicked on, the video plays in the window.
Maybe Step One would be just figuring out how to load a single video and play automatically (no text or clicking).
I've created XML driven playlists, but I'm trying to figure a way to remove the need for the playlist, and just have the Flash load everything it can find from a directory of my choosing.
