I'm looking into creating a Flash projector onto an autorun cd/dvd for PC and Mac. Pretty new to the process and hoping someone might be able to clarify a few things for me.
The projector will be interactive and include a lot of high rez video files with a few PDFs and weblinks.
Been reading that Flash has a hard time accessing big files off a DVD and that Director might be a better bet. I even read that anything over 25 mb can be a problem for flash. Anyone dealt with this issue before?
I create Flash CD-ROMs using projector all the time. I've gone up to around 100mb video files with a data rate of around 1000 kbps (1 mbps) with no complaints from clients. I think with video data rate is more important than size since the projector is accessing that data progressively rather that loading the whole file at once. I think data rates for regular audio CDs are around or above 2000 kbps so ....
