Embed a SWF in a SWF

It should be pretty simple, but I'm obviously missing something...

I'm putting a website together. The navigation buttons load/unload the pages (individual swf's) into a movie clip. Everything functions fine.

On the home.swf, I want to have an animation (3 pngs fading one into the next) loop until the user clicks to go to another page. I've got the swf loading into the movie clip, but it won't play. It hangs up on one of the early frames.

Each of the individual swf files (the pages) use "midframes" (I assume many of you are familiar?). Those midframes are defined by a stop() command in the individual swf's. I'm wondering if, maybe, that has something to do with why I can't have the animation continue, but I know there must be a ways...

Here's how it's set up:

The main swf (that contains the navigation and movie clip into which all pages are loaded) contains the following script:

_root.currMovie = "home";
container.loadMovie(_root.currMovie+".swf");
stop();

The Buttons contain the following:

on (release) {
if (_root.currMovie == undefined) {
_root.currMovie = "about.swf";
container.loadMovie("about.swf");
} else if (_root.currMovie != "about") {
if (container._currentframe >= container.midframe) {
_root.currMovie = "about";
container.play();
}
}
}

The "home.swf" contains the following:

stop();
empty_mc.loadMovie("home_trans.swf");

If any of you can point me in the right direction, it will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Randy
