Scale tween is jumpy (beginner)

Here's what I'm using:

Mac 8 core 2.8ghz
6 gigs ram
Flash CS3
OS 10.5.8

I'm a noob when it comes to Flash. I come from an AE background, so go easy on me here! I am trying to do a simple scale of a movie object (type element). The object is to grow of a short period of time, just to give the animation some interest. However, when I do a scale transform the scale jumps and bounces to get to the larger size. I have applied the motion tween as well. Please help! I'm going crazy here.

Thanks!

Also, I am using 24fps. I've tried everything up to 100fps. Nothing is working.

Thanks-

If the blue arrow appears on the timeline, you probably havn't got the scale input box selected in the properties palette.
