Video Loop
on Aug 14, 2009 at 11:30:42 pm

I just started working in CS3 Flash and can not find my way around.

All I want to loop a small video clip...I've looked all over the net and all I get is a lot of code that
seems to be meant for programers..

is there a simple way to do this simple task?

there are several ways to do that, each which has been discussed in this forum - you can search the forum for more complete answers.

here is the outline and code for 2 different ways:

1) use cue points. a cue point placed on the last frame of the video can trigger a function to play ( replay ) the video from the beginning, making an effective loop. ( you will need to import the relevant classes first)

myFLVPlayer.addEventListener(MetadataEvent.CUE_POINT, myFunction);

function myFunction(pEvent:MetadataEvent)
{ if( == "myCuePointName"){; } }

2) after importing the video class, you can attach an event listener to the video player (VideoEvent.COMPLETE ) then in your function you tell the videoplayer to play ( again)

myFLVPlayer.addEventListener(VideoEvent.COMPLETE, myFunction);
function myFunction(event:VideoEvent):void

there are other ways, but these are the easiest, most direct ways you can accomplish that.
