using two AE clips to create a rollover animation
on Jun 11, 2009 at 9:43:19 pm

I am trying to make a flash site by using flash and AE together.(CS4 OS X)

In AE I have an animation for the home page, and I want a piece of it to enlarge on rollover, prior to been clicked.

In AE I have made a clip which is the page in its 'normal' state. I have also made a separate clip in which the would be link animates to how I would like it to be in a rollover state.

So I have exported them into flash as .xml.

My plan was to create the buttons underneath the basic home page, make them invisible, and attach some ' on(rollOver) ' type script to direct the time line to the rollover state.

I am very new to flash just a couple of basic projects under my belt. Would this be a good way to do this? or is there a simpler way?!?

It dosn't really work anyway. Firstly I can't seem to place the script on the button. Where do you place it? I thought it would be within the button's own timeline, on the 'over' frame. It wont let me though.

Also Im not entirely sure where I should be putting the two movie clips anyway. I put them on different layers with some 'stop' actions but it just plays them looped anyway.

I don't know whether that is all even understandable anyway. god.

If anyone can help and understands my inane ramblings....please help me.

Ta, Joe.
