Animating my crazy chic
on May 10, 2009 at 10:11:34 pm

Hi everyone, new to this forum. Was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. I have an image of a crazy chic on a bike on the home page of my website and wish to animate her, i.e. get her wheels movn across the screen. I have the creative suite cs3 and have made both the wheels in flash cs3 into movie clips but from there I am stuck. I can make the wheels rotate but they dont move along with the bike, lol.

in its simplest form, the 2 wheels are separate Movie clips with their own motion-tween timelines.
these are then positioned inside another movieclip of the whole bike, ( the parent movie clip) which you then animate this parent movie clip across the screen.

adjust the individual wheel's timelines to give the wheels a natural look of spinning ( ie add frames to slow them down, etc)

or step up a level and script the wheels to move ( using ' rotation ' property ) according to the distance traveled by the parent movie clip ( the full bike )

or ... anything else you can dream up ......

does this help ? if not, ask specific questions and i am sure we can help !
