Problem with close button/reloading movie clip
on Apr 8, 2009 at 12:06:57 am

Hi, I am a student and I'm building a portfolio where you click on my artifact, it opens up on top of the existing thumbnails and then when I click the close button, I want the thumbnails that were previously loaded to still appear. Confusing to explain... please check it out here: Portfolio
  • Click on the projects button
  • then click on the first thumbnail which is a purple circle
  • Next, Click the close (x) button.

I want it the thumbnails that displayed when I clicked on the projects tab to reappear...

I realize there are other problems with the portfolio, I'm only worried about the close button for now.

Here's the code that is in the movie clip that opens when you click the first thumbnail.

import fl.containers.UILoader;
import fl.controls.Button;
import fl.video.*;
stop();

var myUILoader:UILoader = new UILoader();
var flvPlayer:FLVPlayback = new FLVPlayback();

myUILoader.autoLoad = false;
myUILoader.scaleContent = true;
addChild(myUILoader);

flvPlayer.visible = false;
myUILoader.source = "http://vanessaderickson.com/rg.swf";
myUILoader.move(-185, -65);
myUILoader.setSize(325, 325);
myUILoader.load();

close_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, closeBtn);

function closeBtn(event:MouseEvent):void {
parent.removeChild(this);

}
stop();

Any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks!!!
Vanessa
