I work at a VOD documentary film channel where many of our films come to us from the producers (unfortunately) on authored DVD-video, sometimes with multi-language subtitles. Our films our streamed in Flash and ideally we'd like to be showing textless versions of the films with selectable streamed subtitles presented via the player.
So, I'm looking to see if there's a worflow to:
* Rip subtitles from a DVD (timing as well as text)
* Convert the subtitle stream(s) to a suitable Flash format
* Sync the subtitle stream(s) to the video if required.
I've seen that there are several programs to rip the streams but I don't know which is most appropriate for Flash.
Any pointers would be very appreicated - I'm starting from zero on this one only having produced projects with subtitles rather than having to do the workflow myself.
