stop the button strip!??
on Mar 13, 2009 at 9:31:33 am

Please go to

The "filmstrip" of images on the left is acting as navigation. My problem is that it's not stopping at the top. It continues to scroll into blank white space.

In flash I've made each picture in the filmstrip a button (that on click brings up the larger image in the main viewing area on the right) I've then grouped the picture buttons as a movie then placed them on the main stage with an action script I copied from a tutorial (not that bright!?)

this is the script for the filmstrip on the main stage:

onClipEvent (load) {
// declare and set initial variables and properties
mode = true;
speed = 4;
onClipEvent (enterFrame) {
// if mode is true, the strip always travels in a straight line
if (mode) {
if (up) {
_y -= speed;
if (down) {
_y += speed;
} else {

this is the action script for the gray arrow button properties (also on the main stage) are:

on (press) {;
on (release, releaseOutside) {;

So, do I need to assign x or y properties somewhere so that the filmstrip will stop scrolling past the first and last navigation image buttons??
