You'll need to give me more code to tell you what -exactly- you're doing wrong, but do know that AS3 does -not- support the _root tag.

Kind regards,

General notice: from now on, I would like to ask everyone to put [AS2] or [AS3] (corresponding to the version of actionscript you are using on your project) in front of their post titles when the question is actionscript related! Please help us help you faster. Thank you.

Cool. Here is all my code. The project is pretty simple. I have a background image named mainmenu as a bitmap. I have two static text links that take you to websites. The last button is named plyButton and it links to an external flv file. All i want the video to do is to return to the main menu when its done playing. everything else works great.
Thanks in advance for your help and yes, I am using AS3.

var video:Video = new Video(720, 486);

var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();

var ns:NetStream = new NetStream(nc);
ns.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS, onStatusEvent);

function onStatusEvent(stat:Object):void

var meta:Object = new Object();
meta.onMetaData = function(meta:Object)

ns.client = meta;

plyButton.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, playHandler);

function playHandler(e:MouseEvent):void {

var listener = new Object();
listener.complete = function(objetEvt) {
