How To Wow photo gallery question
on Feb 26, 2009 at 5:30:03 pm

I'm mostly a graphics guy with some basic Flash but not much Action Script. I'm in Flash CS3 and have a basic photo gallery like what's in the "How to Wow" book. The gallery has 5 buttons that reveal 5 different _mc images. Everything is working with the buttons but I need to show the first image so it doesn't empty. Any thoughts? Script is below:

btn1.onRelease = function() {
attachMovie ("fire_mc","firefighter_van", 0);
firefighter_van._x=109;
firefighter_van._y=10;
};
btn2.onRelease = function() {
attachMovie ("sobebus_mc","sobe_bus", 0);
sobe_bus._x=109;
sobe_bus._y=10;
};
btn3.onRelease = function() {
attachMovie ("dryclean_mc","dry_cleaner", 0);
dry_cleaner._x=109;
dry_cleaner._y=10;

};
btn4.onRelease = function() {
attachMovie ("precision_mc","precision", 0);
precision._x=109;
precision._y=10;
};
btn5.onRelease = function() {
attachMovie ("nofearred_mc","no_fear_red", 0);
no_fear_red._x=109;
no_fear_red._y=10;
};

When you say 'doesn't empty' do you mean start empty?

In which case simply take the button code for the first image and copy it and remove the onRelease bit. Flash will run that as it loads up:

attachMovie ("fire_mc","firefighter_van", 0);
firefighter_van._x=109;
firefighter_van._y=10;
