Plugging In Interactive Cables
on Jan 28, 2009 at 7:45:23 pm

I have images of three pieces of medical equipment, and I'm working on a module that would train the user how to properly connect various cables and plastic tubes between these three pieces of equipment.

I'm looking for a way to create flexible cables and tubes, such that I can click and drag one end of a cable, drop it onto a hotspot (a specific area of one of the piece of equipment), have it drop and lock into place, then I can do the same with the other end of the same tube locking it to another piece of equipment. I'd like the cables and tubes to not be perfectly stiff and straight while the user is draging each end around. If they had bezier-based curves, that would probably be sufficient.

Ideas, existing examples, anything at all would be greatly appreciated.
