Load an html page at the end of a flash video
on Dec 18, 2008 at 5:50:56 pm

So my situation is that I'm not too savvy with flash yet. I made an intro video for this website with after effects and rendered my video as an FLV file. I loaded this file in flash and was trying to find a way to get it to forward the user watching the video to "index2.html" once the video ended. I was thinking maybe theres an actionscript I can put at frame 226 since the video is 225 frames long. Problem is I don't know how to go by and get this done...

If there's a better way of getting the index2.html to load after the end of playback other than doing all of this through flash what would it be? if not how do I go by doing all of this in flash?

At frame 225 or frame 226, or some frame thereafter use:

stop();
getURL("index2.html", "whatWindow");

In place of "whatWindow" put one of the following:

_self // specifies the current frame in the current window.
_blank // specifies a new window.
_parent // specifies the parent of the current frame.
_top // specifies the top-level frame in the current window.

Like so:

getURL("index2.html", "_blank");
