Creating Targeted Links in Flash
on Dec 4, 2008 at 5:58:44 pm

Hi there. This should be an easy one but I can't find the answer.

I have some invisible buttons in my flash document and they are hyperlinks.

When clicked on I would like for them to open a new window. I know I can do this by adding the "_blank" code to the actionscript link. HOWEVER, what I would also like is all of these buttons to open up the external links in the SAME window. SO that after one of the buttons is clicked a popup window appears and then when all subsequent buttons are clicked those links would appear in the same popup window.

I am making the guts of this site in Flash and uploading it via Dreamweaver.

I am making all of the links as well SO is there a script I need to use in Flash to make this work? Do I need to do this in Dreamweaver? Any help would be appreciated. Also, I'm a newbie... :)

It's an old html issue, you need to name your popup window. Instead of _blank, try _popup or _new and see if that works.
