Flash video quality
on Nov 27, 2008 at 12:51:10 pm

Hi folks,

I've completed a 20" commercial with short duration clips (14 frames to 1:03)

I've edited on Premiere CS3, and exported to flash from the premiere and from the stand alone Flash3 Video Encoder (basicly the same)
My master is in PAL 25fps.
I want the flash to be 320x240 25fps croped on the safe image.

The final quality is not good with a lot of macroblocks.
I also tried encoding with ImTOO FLV Converter, DVDVideosoft.

I see a lot of very nice Flash movies on the net with a very decent compression.
My master is very good.

- What encoder do you advise ? (I'm going to try On2 Flix afterv this e-mail)
- Any particular tip ? (my master in interlaced. I always deinterlace for flash. Correct?)

I realy want to get the best image quality possible.

Thanks in advance for the answers.

Export to Quicktime from Premiere and see if it looks good. Then import the Quicktime into Flash and set the advanced options, where you can tweak the bitrate to your heart's content. Or pony up the $$$$ for Sorenson Squeeze.
