Problems with published .html and browsers
on Oct 1, 2008 at 7:08:29 pm

Hi all
I'll admit up front I'm real new to Flash but am enjoying the challenge coming over from the Final Cut video world.

Basically here's my issue. I'm setting up a swf/flv for playback on the web. I've published the swf and it works fine. I thought to also give our webmaster a bit more flexibility and published a html doc as well...complete with the .js file. I double checked both the swf playback as well as the .html playback on my MacPro where it was created and everything works. This was with Safari as the browser. I uploaded it to our NAS and it still works fine on my machine. However, the problem comes when trying to open the .html on another computer using anything other than Safari. All we get is the player with the loading bar in perpetual load. It just wont play on IE or Firefox.

I know he'll probably just embed the .swf in our webpages but I'm curious to know why other browsers won't work...even with fully updated Flash/browser plugins. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!!

Jeremy
