Global Hand Cursor States
on Sep 10, 2008 at 1:51:42 pm

Hey yall,

Quick question, first off, my project is restricted from using AS3, so I am looking for a solution in AS1 or AS2 only. Ok, on to the question.

Is there a way to globally disable the hand cursor in a flash file? I am hoping to have one script that will disable the use of hand cursors on all buttons and movie clips, instead of having to enter the useHandCursor(false) on each instance. I thank you for your help in advance!

Russ

Hey yall,

So I found a solution shortly after original post, and forgot to post solution here. Here it is, incase anyone else needs this. Feel free to post Kudos if this helps you at all:

In the top layer of your flash file, insert the following code line...

Button.prototype.useHandCursor = false;

That should do it. Enjoy.

Thanks, that did it. I followed code from somewhere else and it was wrong, but this worked. Now my application has no hand cursor, just my default cursor. Cool, man!
