I have previously created a website which was based on a .swf file. A friend has asked me to create another site for them, and I am planning on uploading a HTML file. My only concern is that when I used the .swf file, viewers could not access the site without downloading the Flash plugin. my question is will people need to download a flash plugin to access my HTML site if it has been created in Flash? If so, what programs do you guys suggest I use to create a site that requires no extra plugins?
Yes. You still need the flash plugin when you create an HTML page with flash content in it.
HowEVER! There are a few plugins that will ease the installation process. Adobe has something called Express Install. Look into it.
Furthermore, here you can find the penetration rates for the Flash Player plugin. A penetration between 95-99% is hardly something that would desuade me from using flash. On the contrary.
General notice: from now on, I would like to ask everyone to put [AS2] or [AS3] (corresponding to the version of actionscript you are using on your project) in front of their post titles when the question is actionscript related! Please help us help you faster. Thank you.
