Animated Menu with video
on Jul 24, 2008 at 4:56:19 pm

Ok, here's what I'm attempting to do. We're doing some work for a client and we need to create an animated menu in flash. However, we want the final product to look something like this: http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/family/?promoid=BPDEK

Just like that video/menu thing. Honestly, my knowledge of flash is pretty limited but I wanted to know what you all thought would be the best way to do something like that. Getting the greenscreen footage is no problem, it's really just making something like that. Thanks for any help.

It is funny how this kind of Flash-multimedia web apps gain popularity!
I just worked on two projects recently and both of my clients had demands similar the Adobe example you provided.

In general I recommend to go with Actionscript3, make a class based video player and use cue points or the video play head's position to control your background animation.
The carousel is also fun to work with.
If you love Flash and/or Actionscript you'll have a blast like I did.

Let us know how your project goes.
