custom cursor question
on Jun 22, 2008 at 11:17:36 pm

I've created a custom cursor. I have the code to hide the mouse and to lock the movie clip to the mouse position. that all works fine. I want the custom cursor to move with the mouse until it gets to an x value of about 150. Over 150, I want it to stay in place. Under 150, I want it to respond to the mouse movement. Thoughts?

AS2, AS3?
onMouseMove = function(){
if(_xmouse <= 150){
//move mouse
}
}

Kind regards,
Pieter

I found something that works. One of the twists was that I only wanted the custom cursor to move on the x axis. (no y movement) And, I wanted the custom cursor to only respond on the left half of the banner. The final swf is 300x250. Here's what I found. (Code is attached to the custom cursor/movie clip)

onClipEvent (load) {
Mouse.hide();
startDrag(this, true, 0, 125, 150, 125);
}

The numbers are Left, Top, Right, Bottom. Works like a charm!
