Forms: drop-down data and tabIndex
on Jun 18, 2008 at 5:25:44 pm

I have a form on a Flash website. I am using input text fields and using the textfield.variable to set variables that are then POST'd to PHP. I ran into a problem when trying to implement a few drop downs on the form. I ended up doing a workaround involving creating a textfield for each drop-down, setting a variable for it, setting the textfield._visible tag to false, and then setting it's variable equal to the drop down selection. This effectively works, but is there another way to do this?

Also, I'm using the tabIndex to control the TAB order of the fields on the form. However, the drop-downs once again aren't working. I've experimented with using the onKey to detect the TAB in combination with conditionals, but it isn't working. Also, that doesn't solve the issue of Shift-TAB combination.

Any help is appreciated.

To clarify something. When I refer to the drop-downs not working, I'm referring to the fact that as I tab through the form, it skips over the drop-down boxes. Grrr. Anyone?
