SWF Disappears!

I went through Lee Brimelow's Scrolling Thumbnail Panel tutorial (http://library.creativecow.net/articles/brimelow_lee/scrolling_thumbnail_pa...)

I've got my panel working fine for the most part. It does what I want it to do, but I'm having a minor problem. If a user moves their mouse very quickly into another window or program (i.e. iChat) the panel disappears and upon returning to the window, it is no longer visible or useable.

panel.onRollOver = panelOver;

function panelOver() {
this.onEnterFrame = scrollPanel;
delete this.onRollOver;
}

var b = stroke.getBounds (_root);

function scrollPanel() {
if(_xmouseb.xMax || _ymouseb.yMax) {
this.onRollOver = panelOver;
delete this.onEnterFrame;
}

if(panel._x >= 38) {
panel._x = 38;
}

if(panel._x <= -763) {
panel._x = -763;
}

var xdist = _xmouse - 462;

panel._x += -xdist / 12;
}

The above is my ActionScript for the project. I've narrowed it down to the following code as being problematic:

function scrollPanel() {
if(_xmouseb.xMax || _ymouseb.yMax) {
this.onRollOver = panelOver;
delete this.onEnterFrame;

The problem is the "delete this.onEnterFrame;" in my opinion. When I remove this line of code, the panel always disappears when the window is clicked out of, but always reappears when the window is returned to. However, this is a valuable piece of code for stopping the panel from scrolling.

In short, I've searched google and tons of other forums for help but to no avail. Anyone got any tips or hints?
