viewing counter for flash movie?

Hello all,

I was curious as to if there is a way to add a counter that tells you how many times your flash video has been viewed. It's the same kind of thing they do on youtube and myspace, but I don' like to us those. I'd rather post my own video online using flash. So, for instance, if someone goes to my website,, and watches my short video on there, how could I keep track?

I know that I could track how many views my actual site, but I'm planning on adding more videos, so I'd like to track each one.

Any ideas?

There's probably cleaner ways of doing this, since Flash has diverted their focus in exactly this direction (video applications), but they way I would do it, is just send a variable to a serverside script (php, asp, ...) using sendAndLoad.

Have a look at Loadvars in the AS dictionary.

Kind regards,
