flv - codecs and alpha channel problem
on Jan 26, 2008 at 2:07:25 am

Hello!
Ok I'm new to Flash...

I'm trying to create a .flv with an alpha channel (i'm using final cut to export, but i think that may be irrelevant) ...

when i use the 'on2 VP6' codec and check 'encode alpha channel,' all of the .flv channels are corrupt. (i think). They will not open in Flash, VLC, or Quicktime (with Perian installed).

when i try to export using the 'sorenson spark' codec, there is no problem opening up the file, except that there's no option to encode an alpha channel!!!

What do I do if I need to export a .flv with an alpha?!?!?!

thanks!
elise

You have to set your timeline setting in Final Cut to "Animation" in order to have alpha. Are you using Sorenson Squeeze to encode into flash?
