Is anyone getting this program to work with FCP Quicktime files?
I can export a program from FCP into Quicktime, then open that Quicktime file into Flash Video Encoder, set my settings and encode. So far so good....
But here's where is goes wrong. It will say that its encoding the entire (approximately 25 minutes) program. But when you play it back, it will only play about one minute and then the video freezes. That's it...
I can encode using the On2 Flix 8 Exporter just fine (which is a third party app) but I can't seem to get Adobe's program to work. Funny, isn't it.
By the way, I went to Adobe's forums and tried to sign it. It asked me for a nickname and I get a message saying that its already been taken. I can't put in ANY nickname including just random characters without getting this message. Wow! I can't seem to get ANY support from Adobe. I emailed them two months ago, and they still haven't responded.
Out of curiosity are you trying to scale the movie while you're importing it? I've had the Flash encoder get the duration wrong when trying to scale a movie down while encoding. When I scaled and exported out of Quicktime first and then encoded it Flash Encoder got it right.
Not really... I'm just using the presets that came with Flash Video Encoder.
But playing around the other day, I did find out that if I use Quicktime files that have been exported from Final Cut Pro using Quicktime 7.2 that it will encode but not properly. I have to open the Quicktime player set the audio to 44.1k and eliminate all but two channels of audio in the export settings and re-export to a new file. If I do all of this, the encoder works just fine.
