My professor wants me to try a little side work for him. He is an engineer, and he is developing some sort of threaded material for some purpose that I forgot. Anyways, he wants to try to make an animation of something like this:
The fabric is put under stress, and the motion of the individual threads will be defined by a function. The animation will feature only a handful of threads at a micro-level, so basically we are dealing with, say, half a dozen vertical lines and half a dozen horizontal lines.
I don't expect y'all to spell this out for me, but could y'all point me in the right direction? Can y'all recommend an article or tutorial to get me going? I have looked around and actionscript seems to be what I am looking for. I have minimal experience with flash, but am a fast learner, and this would give me a chance to learn flash, which is something I have been looking for a reason to do.
