I have attached a mc(ColorChipPopUp) via a button from another mc(corkboard). The ColorChipPopUp mc is on top of the corkboard mc and its intent is to give a lager more detailed look than the smaller view on the corkbord mc.

To remove the ColorChipPopUp mc I use this script (chip is the instance name);

on (release) {
_root.chip.removeMovieClip();
}

And it works great. It removes the clip and I am left with the corkboard mc again. Now I want to go to frame 146 of the corkboard mc

on (release) {
_root.gotoAndPlay(146)
_root.chip.removeMovieClip();

}

This isn't working. I end up in scene 1 frame 1 and I want to go to frame 146 of the corkboard movie which is on frame 3 of scene 1.

Any help...confused.
Thx Brian

if you want to hit frame 146 of the corkboard, you need to change your path from _root.gotoAndPlay(.... to _root.corkboard.gotoAndPlay(146);

Or am I missing something else?

I tried that and it still goes to the first frame of scene one.
Any other ideas?

You definitely need to define the absolute path to the MC. Does the corkboard MC have an instance name?

on (release) {
_root.corkboard.gotoAndPlay(146)
_root.chip.removeMovieClip();
}
