SWF file to Full Screen
on Sep 12, 2007 at 4:00:30 am

Hello,

How do I make the SWF take up the full screen of a browser??? Please see the example below. I've been trying to figure this out for some time now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Again, you could use your Publish settings for this, but I prefer to do it with a little code...

Just place this actionscript on a seperate layer (Actions:Stage)

Kind regards,

Fullscreen is a achieve through the combination of flash and html settings.

Displaying flash as a fullscreen is one aspect but how you would control the contents placement in the flash is another aspect.

For example, following is a re-usable code for displaying .swf in fullscreen mode:

//stage scaling mode and alignment settings
Stage.scaleMode = 'noscale';
Stage.align = 'tl';
//setup the stage listener
stage_listener.onResize = onStageResize;
function onStageResize(){
//code logic here will control the placement of the contents in the .swf file
}

in the html object and embed tags for the .swf file you would now set the width and height to 100%.

I think gotoandlearn.com has a video tutorial on this subject ( the name of the video tutorial is: "Full Browser Flash" ):
