I'm new to flash and I'm looking to create simple slideshows with cross dissolves. I've found many online free sites with tutorials but alot involved scripting and use of arrow buttons. That is not what I'm looking for. Here is what I've done so far http://www.maineventweddings.com/photographer.html
This method was done simply in dreamweaver but its essentially what I want to learn how to do in flash CS3, which I own.
Is there a tutorial series out there that could take me through this process. Perhaps something that I could grow into as well as my knowledge of the program expands.
Have you looked in the Flash help under slideshows?
Besides using that or buying a component, you're going to have to get into a little scripting as even timeline animations will require a stop(); and gotoAndPlay(); at the very least to make one move to another.
But, here's a tip: Use a square movie clip the size of the largest image that is colored the same as the background and fade that movie clip in/out and just put the image (photo) on a single frame beneath it.
That way, Flash only has to download that one movie clip once and you can reuse it endlessly rather than making flash actually fade an image.
