beginner needs help
on Jul 18, 2007 at 5:43:05 pm

Hi all,
I am NOT a flash user. I am just trying to use the program to prepare an FLV for the web. I followed these instructions:

I understand everything but when I enter the URL into the component inspector it gives me the message "Failed to load:...". It seems as though the flash project is not linking well with my file on my server. However, when I give the component inspector a local path it works perfectly. What could be wrong?

It could be a couple of things. If you want to email me some more particulars I can probably help you out. Could be path name...or browser.

When you enter the path it's case sensitive so make sure you have everything exactly the way it is written out. I had the same problem, also if that fails try testing a different naming convention for your file and folder. I also found that when I changed the folder and file name to a 2 character name for testing purposes I was able to load the movie right up. Might be a glitch so it's worth a try. it worked for me.
