Flashpaper conflict with mediaplayback ?
on May 15, 2007 at 11:55:04 pm

I'm using Flash 8 and publishing out for Flash Player 7.

I have an interface made where on a frame I have a mediaPlayback component linking to an external .flv with autoPlay set to true. On this frame there is a button that will dynamically build a movieclip that loads an external flashpaper .swf. This created movieclip has a button to remove the flashpaper movieclip. All the functionality runs fine except for when I hit pause on the mediaplayback component before selecting to load the flashpaper. All functionality of my buttons seem to go haywire. An onPress event seems to run like an onRollOut and the onRelease event is never triggered. I seem to get functionality back after the user clicks with the flashpaper toolbar a few times.

Anyone have any insight into what is going on? My guess is just some sort of conflict with the mediaplayback and the flashpaper controls fighting for a kind of active focus but I dunno.

I was able to find the solution pretty well documented here:
