I'm programming a flash-game in which the player has to navigate a ship to the coast and mustn't hit the rocks in the water.
With hitTest(getBounds...) I managed that the ship is thrown back when it hits the hitTest-field of the coast. But that doesn't work with the rocks. From some sides the ship ignores the hitTest and drives right through the rock. From other directions it works.
Does anyone know why that is? Has it to do with the form of the hitTest-field? I think it would work better if the field was bigger. But I don't want the rocks to be bigger.
