external swf problems
on Jan 5, 2007 at 6:56:11 am

ok so i am trying to have a video viewer with different external swf files using this code
on (release) {
if (_root.currMovie == undefined) {
_root.currMovie = "demo";
container.loadMovie("demo.swf");
} else if (_root.currMovie != "demo") {
if (container._currentframe>=container.midframe) {
_root.currMovie = "demo";
container.play();
}
}
}
i have the blank mc named container.
i got it to work the first time but only one clip will show(the start up clip) & swf's saved same as file, desktop
if i want this on the web would i need to save the swf's somewhere special, do i write out the address entirly?
also i have diferent sizes can i resize them with action scripting? with the code above.
thanks

"if i want this on the web would i need to save the swf's somewhere special, do i write out the address entirely?"

When putting SWF's on a web server, you will need to script the paths (to external swfs) in your video viewer relative to the html page that will contain the video viewer.
i.e.: if your html page is index.html, and your swfs are all contained in the folder "Flash" (index.html and Flash are in the same folder as each other), your video viewer would need to use the path Flash/demo.swf

"also i have diferent sizes can i resize them with action scripting?"

You can, but I think you would need to do it after the swf is loaded. In which case you would need to use the more complex, but more powerful MovieClipLoader class instead of loadMovie().
