Import flv file from AE to flash

Import flv file from AE to flash

Im trying to import FLV file from AE to flash
i import the file and when i open it flash i cant see it
i use import and then choose the file
also the flv file is big size for a web about 60-70kb
will flash make it smaller if i import as flv and then export from flash as swf?

More than likely the resulting swf would be larger as it will contain more information than the original video file.

You can adjust the size needed in the flv compression settings, I usually create a Quicktime and then Flash 8 Video Encoder, so I haven't run into the trouble of flv's not importing. Are there any error warnings or clips showing up in the Library?

I dont get any errors i think that might be caeuse i try to export flash 8
from after effects and import it to flash mx2004
cause flash 7 flv file is showing in flash

what do you mean you import as quick time and use flash 3 encoder?
will i get a smaller size this way and keep all effects?

Flash 8 Professional comes with a separate program, Flash 8 Video Encoder. You can import video files into this and setup batches to create flv's. If you have Flash 7, it wouldn't have come with.

Flash 8 video uses better compression code, so in effect you can create better quality videos for the same file size (compared to version 7) or to think of it alternately - the same quality of video in a smaller file size.

If you have Flash MX2004, it won't be possible to use flv's made for Flash 8 (this is called the On2 codec). Check to see if your flv export option has 'Sorensen Spark', as that one should work in MX2004.
