When linking scenes do I have to re do my action script every time for each button? It seems that even though I create a button when I bring it into another scene I have to redo all the action script. I'm sure this isn't how it

You've created a button in a library, but the actionscript is placed in the timeline. Each scene gives you a new timeline. This allows you have use the same design of button as many times as you want, with each doing a different thing. If you don't want to have to redo the actionscript each time, you could either copy the button from the window and paste it into your new scene, or have ll your static objects on one layer and copy the frame, and paste it into each scene.

Alternatively, you could place you button in a movieclip, put the code on that button (remembering to adjust the code for the parent) and then use that movieclip from the library

Hope that makes sense
