I've used Projetor files to load external content all the time. Can you explain what you're doing and how you're doing it that it's not working? Is it working when you test he SWF file?

Hello,
glad to hear u...

So,
I wrote script which load external XML file
XML file cotains some descriptions and links to folders with pictures.

SWF file works properly everything is ok.

But when I publishing it as Windows projector (file.exe)
nothing is happening...

I have tried to change some options in Publish Settings menu
"Only local files"
"Network files only"....
NOTHING......

May be some specific in publish settings or in Action Script
I mean I need to set an absolut path to xml file... or something else....?
because now the path to XML file is:
"base/file.xml"

If you're using an exe file you'd probably want to go with absolute file paths ... as the user might try to run the exe file from anywhere.

It should be Presentation which runs automatically from CD disk (Autorun)

and I dont know how to set absolut path in this case.
Any suggestions?
is it relative path?
"dir/filename.xml"
or absolut path?
"E:/dir/dir/dir/filename.xml"
or
"../dir/dir/filename.xml"

I think the second one will not works properly.....

OK it's no help but cross-domain loading of XML file into an exe projector file is working fine here, callng XML from the web.

Is your file loading into the swf, but not into the exe versions?

For relative paths, if you only want the exe to work from the CD, then relative path naming should work fine. Absolute path naming within the CD will break if people have different drive letters for their CD drives - which we do. Some products allow a system call to to find the path to system CD drive, but I have seen no suggestion that this is possible with Flash ....

yeap,
Its succesfully loading in SWF file and works fine - here is no any problems
but with EXE....

You absolutely right I cant give a full path because here might be a difference in Disk drive names (D, E, F, etc..)...

What I need to do?

What should be as a relative path for CD?

Why SWF works fine and *.exe not?

Please give me some advise on how to set the relative path for CD?

Tanks in advance...

Can you Zip up your project folder and post it somewhere so I can download it and see what's happening? I've done this quite often and never had a problem (using relative paths, with absolute paths you can never be sure which drive letter the CD-ROM is given.
