I'm using Flash video encoder to encode video files for the web, but it's taking almost two hours to encode a 1 gig file. I'm running the software on a MacBook Pro with 1 gig of ram. Is this my problem? Do I need a universal version of the software to speed things up? I realize the don't make one. Any ideas?
A gig is a huge file to encode. It's having to compress quite a bit of information. Any chance you can save the original out at a smaller size first? What speed is your Mac Pro book? A gig of ram is great, but processor speed is still going to have a major effect.
