Flash Animation walks on webpage
on Jul 27, 2006 at 2:35:30 pm

I am trying to create a flash animation to be like that animation you see now a days, where someone walks out onto the webpage. Here is what I have, I have video footage of a person against a green screen. What I want to do is remove the green so it is transparent againts the webpage. The webpage is an code in ASP, or cold fusion I think.
Does anyone know how to achieve this type of flash animation?
Your help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks a ton.

You need to keyout the green background to make an alpha channel. Flash can't do that. But, once you have the alpha channel, then you can import/encode the video file with the alpha channel so that the background drops out.

Unless there is some small utility program, you're stuck learning something like After Effects to keyout the background.

Almost every video application has some sort of chroma keying available. You could use Vegas or Final Cut if you don't have the bucks to drop on After Effects and it will still do the job. Maybe not as well... but it will do the job.
