importing images
on Jul 21, 2006 at 2:48:44 pm

Hi, I'm a beginner just getting my hands on flashpro 8. I am trying to import an image from the internet without a background. but when i get the face out of the image, it comes in as a square face with a white background. What should i do to get a transparant background?
thanks in advance.

phil

If you're downloading the image from the internet, chances are it's a JPG file, which does not support transparency, You would need to open the file in Photoshop or a simmilar program and remove the background and then re-save it as a PNG file (prefered) or GIF file which supports transparency.

The png file didn't work, but i was able to separate the background by right clicking on the image and pressing break apart. then i used the lasso tool. Thank you anyway. I appreciate the help.
