Possibly passing the new url via a variable in the html instead and setting up the fla to receive that.

See this article and particularly the section on skipping repetive animations:

Or set up the Flash file to pull the links from an XML file and parse them into an array, then have the link buttons pull their destination url from the correct index number of the array. Then they just have to use a text editor to change the links in the XML file which can be set up to be pretty obvious what to change.

Thanks guys . . . think I found another solution in a book called Flash Hacks by Sham Bagnal.

There's an application called URL Action Editor

http://buraks.com/uae

That appears to do exactly what I'm looking to do, and does it easily enough that a client could do it themselves. As I'm an animator and not an XML guy, I'm afraid the solution needs to be pretty basic. And this app seems to fit the bill.

The other option since I'm just changing one URL, is to see if I can oepn the .swf in a text editor and change it there.

Thanks again,

Rob
