attaching .flv behavior to buttons
on Jun 27, 2006 at 10:10:09 pm

I have an instance of a flv player on my stage. I would like to create a number of buttons that will load different .flv videos into the player. I an not sure how to utilize the attach video behavior to the buttons or even if that is the correct way to proceed. I am new to flash so any help will be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Take a look at this:

var myVideo:FLVPlayback;
myVideo.autoPlay = true;
myVideo.autoRewind = false; = false; //also can use parameters area
myVideo.contentPath="video/otherMovie.flv";//this is where various flv can be instructed to load

with (myVideo){
playPauseButton = vcPlayPause; //setting methods = to instance name of graphic/con to use.
stopButton = vcStop;
seekBar = vcSeek;
backButton = vcRew;
forwardButton = vcFFwd;

The 'vc' is short for Video Control and represents the name of the instance name of the graphic I was using for a particular custom controller (play, rewind etc)

So, on a button you might just say something like:

on.ButtonName.Release = function() {
myVideo.autoPlay = true;

I haven't seen any behaviors that look like this. I am using Flash 8 pro.
Is this something that is adjusted in the components (parameters) windows or is it an action script?
