Hello

I made a flash banner in Adobe after effects. I am motion graphics / video person
soooo...client wanted a link to a site when the banner is clicked on so I went to
macromedia flash and I have this action on a layer that sits on top of my animation
that was made in after effects the action is:

_root.onMouseDown = function() {
getURL("http://www.alamonicaragua.com", "_blank");
};

so far so good it works fine the client is happy...but wait...no hand or finger or whatever!!!!

please help...the link works but when the mouse is over the banner the cursor doesn't turn to a hand

tried doing searches....and nothing......

please help

Instead of onMouseDown, use onRelease.
Also, make a MovieClip or Button the size of the area you want to be hot, and turn the alpha down to 0. Give it a name (i.e. myButton) and then script the path to that button such as _root.myButton.onRelease = function() {..}

The symbol name doesn't matter for scripting. You need to (single) click on the instance of it on your stage and give it a name in the properties window.

Alternativly, you could use CSS on the container you're holding your flash in and have it display the hand.

#flashDiv{
cursor:pointer;
}

that's all. or you could do it inline.
PUT FLASH HERE
and it doesn't have to be the div, you could use a span, p, a anything...

just giving some alternatives.
