Greetings, I'm looking for a set of guidelines to help inform a client about how much video can fit on a CD-ROM authored in Flash 8, using the FLV format.
I've done a series of these before, and I find that 90 min is about as much as I can fit while maintaining good image and sound quality. The target size i'm going for is about 425 x 319, although I could probably get away with 320 x 240.
This project involves 8 1 hour presentations, with PP slides synced with the video.
I think your estimation of 90 minutes is a good one. However, depending on what your video is, you can likely get much more than that by reducing your frame rate. If your video is a talking head or screen captures, you can often drop them down to 15 or even 12 frames per second instead of the typical 30 people like for video, with little quality loss.
I'm filling a need. Without me there would be no bad examples.
