new to Flash question
on Apr 27, 2006 at 7:26:43 pm

I'm currently using Flash 8 to tweak a website created for me recently. I am new to Flash and am probably asking a silly question. I want my flash site to open in a window the same size as the .swf file. I have read tutorial after tutorial and they all assume you know where to put the java script or xhtml code to make this happen. I don't know html very well. How many files needextra code to make this happen.

I am completely at a loss here.

I have the site pretty much finished up in Flash. But when I open/publish it...it opens in a browser in the top left corner with all this "padding". I want the browsser to "wrap" to the size of the Flash movie. And I would like to do this for all of my quicktimes as well.

Any help for the beginning moron would be fantastic! Thanks!

Oh yeah, and now Flash is crashing every time I try to publish...*sigh*

Hi Colin.

On the web, you're going to struggle if you want absolute control over how your site visitors view things.

One approach might be able to place a link asking people to go to a new window, and then place javascript (as below) on the link to control the browser.

A couple of links might help you to get started though:

Thanks! I'll take a look and see what I can come up with.
