Help. I'm new to Flash 8 Professional. I encoded a QuickTime movie file with the Flash Video encoder, embedded the .flv file into my .swf file, uploaded all my files to the server, and the .flv file doesn't show up in the .swf. It works perfectly on my local machine but it doesn't work live. In the parameter settings I have the path to the .flv file pointing to the location on my computer. Then I uploaded everything to the server and I get nothing. What am I doing wrong? Is it a problem with the server? I'm totally lost. By the way the file is at http://www.circusboy.com/hunt_html/View.html.
It will be hard to call the swf from your hard disc when it's played from a remote webserver.
On your syste, you could try moving the flv file into the same folder that holds your fla file, so when you publish the relative path is nowhere. Then make sure you upload the flv file into the same folder as the swf on the webserver.
Of course a unix/ linux web host won't easily handle gaps or special characters in the file name ... but you knew that.
