Fast rewind/forward options in Macromedia flash player 8
on Apr 12, 2006 at 10:04:33 pm

Hi,
I have a link to to a flash file of a few hours long programming language training class.
On the machine I'm using right now, there's no fast rewind/forward options. It's really frustrating to view this file this way (With only pause and resume options).
I think I worked on a machine in which these options were enabled.
Is it really possible to have these options? What do I have to do in order to get them?

Thank you,
Moty

For the most part, the features you're asking for need to be programmed into the flash file, there are ways around this if the file is an FLV (and you can save the FLV file separately which would mean they were NOT using Flash Communication Server) or a single SWF that you can save a copy of, you can make another flash file that would dynamically load the file and give you the functionality you're looking for. But depending on your familiarity with ActionScript, it's not the easiest thing to do (not overly difficult either but it's not just a couple of clicks and you're done...)

I'm filling a need. Without me there would be no bad examples.
