loading .swf movie using flash 8 pro-please help ASAP

Hi,
Just trying to do a simple LoadMovie- but can't get this to work. Using the MX - I'd simply attach the name of the .swf file in the URL: LoadMovie slot. But it's not working in 8.
It's a simple button click- and I'm trying to load an old .swf file from version 4.
Couldn't load a tester MX .swf file either!

I'm obviously doing this wrong.
Thanks for your help

Got the .swf file loading- not quite sure what I was missing before- but it's working now- here's the next question...how do I control the getURL pop window- I am sending the viewer to various site examples- and I'd like the inital browser size to "lay on top" of my site - so my site is still visible below.
Also- is there a way to do this with the LoadMovie- .swf files I'm loading?

Thanks much for your help

Here is how you would call a simple javascript command to get a popup window specifically sized:

getURL('javascript:window.open("http://www.something.com","theNewWindow","scrollbars=0,menubar=0,toolbar=0,location=0,resizable=0,status=0,width=320,height=240,left=100,top=50")');

As far as loading another swf into your existing flash file, at a specific size, you can either:

A) Design the file to be loaded a specific size.
OR
B) use the MovieClipLoader class instead of LoadMovie.

Thanks for help. I'm new to scripting- so please forgive the lame question:
in the GetURL slot (in the actions window for the button) I typed in everything above-
but when I tested it- it never hit the site- instead- the browser was looking for a site named javascript!
Additionally- when I type in the first part - 'javascript:window.open
everything is fine- after that- I am automatically getting backslashes added to the code when I try to continue.
I tried copying and pasting your code- just dropping it into the GetURL slot- and putting in the site name- no luck.
What am I doing wrong?
thanks much

I'm not sure what is wrong. I just tried it myself and it didn't work either. In fact, the exact example in the help files did not work either. You may need to head over to the Macromedia forums or knowledge base.

Thanks for reply- this has been an on going problem- I cannot seem to solve. I posted the same question on flashkit a few days agao- and someone there said to paste the following code- directly to the button instance- which I think I did correctly- and I got big errors- but here is the code that the responder said works:

on (release) {
getURL("javascript:NewWindow=window.open('http://www.flashbax.com/popup1.html','myWindow','width=300,height=300,
left=100,top=100,toolbar=No,location=No,scrollbars=No,status=No,resizable=No,fullscreen=No'); NewWindow.focus(); void(0);");
}

I kept getting errors when I would try the test scene/movie.

If you get it working- can you please let me know what I am doing wrong.
Thanks again for your help
