Can you copy layers
on Mar 31, 2006 at 6:41:44 pm

Hi,

I am new to FLASH. However, I have a background in After Effects.

Is it possible to copy and paste a layer in FLASH? I don't see any way of doing that.

I just copied a bunch of frames to a different movie but they pasted in off center.

Thank you

NORMCO

You can get the wanted result by copy the frames from one layer and the paste the frames on another layer.
1. Select all frames in the layer by clicking on the layername.
2. Choose Edit > Timeline > Copy frames.
3. Select the layer you want to paste to or create a new empty layer.
4. Choose Edit > Timeline > Paste frames.

Thats it.

To fix the pasting off center, hold SHIFT when pressing control+v (SHIFT+CTRL+V), or alternately highlight the frames in your timeline, right-click and choose 'Copy Frames', go to a new layer, right-click and choose 'Paste Frames'.

I tried both these things.

I copy a bunch of frames from one movie.

I go to the other movie (same project) and I paste them into a new layer. The objects always show up to the lower rightof the stage.

Any other ideas?

Thanks
